Unfortunately for her younger sister, Bianca, house rules say she can’t date until Kat has a boyfriend. So Bianca tries to set Kat up for romance. What really makes the movie a masterpiece is the way Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger portray the bittersweet relationship.

When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother was right about how misguided she was — and begins to fall for him. This movie was something of a sleeper hit that had a strong influence on fashion and lingo at the time. It is now regarded as a modern classic so if you’ve somehow missed this one then the time to watch is now!

The Notebook (2004)
With it being widely reported that Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams didn’t get on at all whilst filming The Notebook then you would never guess from their on screen chemistry (the couple did end up briefly dating after the movie had premiered). The movie is based on the book of the same name by Nicolas Sparks, which itself is based on the real life story of his (now ex) wife’s grandparents. The film tells the story of Noah and Allie, a couple who meet and fall in love in the 1940s.
