Average Joe by Krissy Daniels

Marley Masters runs a successful chain of bikini barista stands, secretly supports her elderly neighbor, Alice, and has rid her life of bad boys.

She even deflected the advances of her new neighbor Joe, the ex-con. Okay. Lie. The lawbreaker is irresistible and relentless.

Hard as Marley tries to fight the attraction and protect her battered heart, Joe proves time and time again that he’s playing for keeps.

Joseph Kaine struggled his entire life to ditch the family curse. Finally, after a stint in prison, he’s ready to walk the straight and narrow.

Marley, his new neighbor, seems the perfect way to fill his lonely days. But that feisty woman is a magnet for trouble, and Joe is nothing if not a man who’ll fight to keep his ladies safe.

Can he shake the Kaine legacy, or will an average Joe have to call on his inner thug and play dirty?

Krissy Daniels is the author of Average Joe, the Truck Stop Series, L.O.V.E., How To Kill Your Boss, and the Apotheosis Series. Krissy is a writer by night and a sales admin by day. The only thing she loves more than curling up with a steamy romance novel is cozying up to her desk and writing her own sexy adventures to share with others.

Interview with Krissy Daniels

Q: Hi Krissy. Tell us about your publishing journey. Did you always want to be an author?

KD: I’ve always loved writing and telling stories. I never considered writing as a career, though. It wasn’t until my children were toddlers that I started my first novel, just to see if I could actually write a book. I finished almost two years later, joined writing groups, and started to query. Three months later, I signed my first contract.

Q: That’s amazing! So what is Average Joe about?

KD: Average Joe is about two people brought together by their love for Joe’s aunt, who is recently deceased. Their happily-ever-after is an uphill battle every step of the way.

Q: Tell us about your heroine. What inspired her quirks and struggles?

KD: Marley is a bit unlikeable at the story’s beginning, and she’s a hard nut to crack. But as her history is revealed, you understand what makes her so prickly.

Q: Tell us about your hero. What motivates him?

KD: Joe is a protector at heart. His motivation to protect the women in his life comes from being raised by a single mother.

Q: Is any part of your story or the characters based on personal experience?

KD: The idea for Average Joe came about because I had a favorite drive-through coffee stand down the street from my house. I left for vacation. When I returned a week later and drove through the stand for my coffee, the young girl who greeted me was dressed in little more than a bra and panties. I was surprised and, I’ll admit, a little embarrassed. The barista was gorgeous and incredibly sweet, but I hadn’t expected to be served by a nearly naked woman. We had a good laugh. She explained that the stand had switched ownership while I was away. I decided I needed to write a book about a bikini barista.

Q: How many books have you published and which is your favorite?

KD: Average Joe is my 9th published novel. My favorite has to be Truck Stop Titan, the final book in the Truck Stop series. I love Titan because Dane, who was a villain through the first three books, gets his redemption story. He’s brought to his knees by a young girl he rescues and happens to find love along the way.

Q: Name a few of your favorite authors or books.

KD: Top three favorite authors right now? Pam Godwin, J.R. Ward, and C.D. Reiss. Wait! I have to add Jewel E. Ann too.

Q: What are you reading right now?

KD: I’m rereading the In The Company Of Killers series by J.A. Redmerski.
