All About 365 Days

365 Days  is a Polish erotic thriller film directed by Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes. Based on the first novel of a trilogy by Blanka Lipińska, the plot follows a young Warsaw woman in a spiritless relationship falling for a dominant Sicilian man, who imprisons and imposes on her a period of 365 days for which to fall in love with him.

Michele Morrone as Massimo Torricelli

Massimo is a Sicilian mob boss and head of the Torricelli mafia family. He had dreams about a beautiful women of which will be his future wife. One day he sees Laura and knows that she is the one. He then captures her and gives her 365 days to fall in love with him.

Michele is an Italian actor, model, singer and fashion designer. His acting career expands across both Polish and Italian films. Morrone’s acting career was ignited by his desire to pursue acting after watching a Harry Potter film at age 11. He went on to join acting classes in middle school and then studied professional acting in a theater in the city of Pavia. He was featured in Italian TV series such as Come un Delfino (2011), Renata Fonte (2017), Medici (2018), and more. In 2016 he entered the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars and placed second.

Magdalena Lamparska as Olga

Olga is a friend of Laura in the film series, and supports her often through the storyline.

Magdalena is a popular Polish actress and model. She has a fairly large filmography. She graduated from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Thatre Academy in Warsaw in 2010. In addition to acting, Magdalena is a well-respected choir singer and has won three Nation Choir Competitions as the chorister in the Fantazja choir.

Bronisław Wrocławskie as Mario

Mario acts as Massimo’s right hand man and carries out some of Massimo’s dirty deeds, as well as breaks the news to Massimo that Laura might be dead.

Wrocławskie is no stranger to the screen. He has been active since 1985. In particular, he has a recurring role in Barwy Szczescia, of which he has starred in over 450 episodes across 15 years of the show.

Otar Saralidze as Domenico

Domenico took over Mario’s spot as Massimo’s right hand man. He and Olge fall in love and get engaged.

Saralidze was born in Georgia, but currently lives in Poland. His talents extend to voice acting, theatre, and business. He voiced Venom in Spider-Man: No Way Home (Polish dub). He attended Aleksander Zelweowicz in Warsaw to pursue acting.

Klara is the mother of our protagonist, Laura.

Ewa was born on New Years Day, 1957 in Poland. She is best known for her roles in 80’s movies Dziewczeta z Nowolipek (1986) & Kogel-mogel (1988). She was previously married to Jerzy Bernatowicz and has a child.

Dariusz Jakubowski as Tomasz Biel

Tomasz Biel is the father of protagonist Laura Biel.

We left following Laura’s kidnapping.

A Mexican standoff ensues between Adriano (Massimo’s brother) and Massimo. Laura tries to break free and is shot by Anno, who is then shot by Nacho. Massimo then shoots Adriano to finish the standoff before anyone else can get hurt.

We were left with a cliffhanger of Laura’s potential demise – but clearly, she is fine! Phew.

Based off the hit novel, this Polish erotic drama is the sequel to 365 Days: This Day, directed by Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes.

With her marriage to the swoon-worthy Sicilian gangster Massimo on the rocks, Laura begins fantasising about living her life with Nacho, much like she did in the second film. When Laura reconnects with Nacho during a trip to Portugal, Nacho declares his eternal love for her.

This threequel provides Laura with some agency to decide which path her love life should take. As she grapples with her romantic dilemma, we get to see more of Laura’s personality and life from before she was taken by Massimo. As well as getting some fun scenes with best friend/party animal Olga.

Nacho eventually reunites with Laura, to which the pair exchange a heated moment on the beach. Nacho, unlike Massimo, is happy to give Laura some agency of her own and he tells her that he saved Massimo’s life by killing Anna.

Massimo is waiting for Laura in her hotel, but thankfully he gives her space to work on herself. After some advice from her mother, Laura goes back to Sicily where she is warned that Massimo knows of her sexual relations with Nacho.

Surprisingly Massimo is fairly gentle about the situation, expressing regret that Laura couldn’t come to him for emotional support following the loss of their baby.

It was expected that the “final” installment of the trilogy would end on a happy note, but the ending left many hungry for a yet-to-be-confirmed fourth movie.

Our Overview

The second book begins with Massimo trying to leave Laura after proposing to her. She manages to change his mind when she reveals to him that she is pregnant.

Olga hooks up with Domenico and they spend their time intimately, or drinking and taking drugs. Next, Adriano appears, who is another of Massimo’s brothers. Laura is shocked when she sees that he is Massimo’s twin.

The twins prove to be trouble when Laura walks in on Massimo in bed with his ex, to which Massimo lies and tries to claim to be his twin brother. Laura then leaves Massimo and escapes to Hungary where she hides for weeks with Olga before returning to Poland. Massimo and Laura rekindle their relationship. Unfortunately, Laura catches Massimo getting high and runs from him. She is then captured by Marcelo Nacho Matoas – the son of a Spanish mafia family. Laura begins to develop feelings for her captor.

After a lot of mafia trading and business deals, involving Laura being used as a bargaining chip, Adriano is in possession of Laura. He takes her to an empty building. Both wanting to get Laura back, Massimo and Nacho put aside their differences and show up fully armed. Laura makes a run for it and Antonio shoots her in the stomach as she tries to escape.

Our Review of This Day (365 Days Book 2)

Once again, Blanka delivered! This story is just as spicy and addictive as the first. This new release boasts some interesting new characters. It was especially interesting to see how Laura is easy to fall into the arms of another captor and develop feelings. A running theme, perhaps?

The cliffhanger has us desperately hungry for more. Is Laura okay? Will she survive? The question is a huge one and we can’t wait to read the next book to find it out!

Our Overview

We follow, from Laura’s perspective, the wake of Sicilian Don Massimo Torricelli’s visions and dreams which plague him following his coma. He has visions of a woman he is destined to own. After a coincidental meeting at the airport, he becomes obsessed with Laura Biel, who is in a committed relationship with someone whom she doesn’t truly love.

Massimo kidnaps Laura and keeps her trapped in a gilded cage. The rules are easy; Laura will stay captive for 365 days and will either walk free at the end, or will have fallen madly in love.

After threatening her family and friends, Laura is forced to agree to the terms. Thus begins the tumultuous and uncanny relationship between Marissimo and Laura. Laura, despite Marissimo’s occasional violence, falls in love. It’s obvious that despite the taboo terms, Marissimo genuinely loves and cares for Laura.

The stakes are only higher as Massimo’s enemies have targeted the couple and Massimo is unwilling to place Laura in danger. Laura is told to wait in Warsaw for days with no contact from her lover. She reconnects with some friends and goes clubbing. She is led back to her temporary apartment, where Marissimo is waiting.

Marissimo proposes and Laura accepts. However, back in Italy, tensions are rising. Nonetheless, Laura’s life goes on and she falls pregnant, not realising that a rival mafia family has a target on her back.

Our Review of 365 Days (365 Days Book 1)

A compelling plot for a thriller, mixed with some sadistic romance and ludicrous bits of kink, 365 Days is not for the faint of heart.

A dark and twisted book with equally dark characters, we found that Massimo wasn’t as harsh as what other captors are in these sorts of novels. Massimo grew up in violence and it’s all he’s ever known – but despite that, he has genuine feelings for Laura and wants to be gentle. With a mood that changes on a dime, when Laura fights back he sees it as disrespect and often reacts violently. The incompatibility between the two is exciting to read as it settles and really serves to show the true difficulties of such relationships.

If you’re into wild and slightly uncouth mafia romance with a hefty side helping of smut, then you’re definitely in the right place!

Our Overview

We left off with Laura being gravely hurt. We come back to Massimo facing an unimaginable decision: keep Laura alive or his unborn child? Laura meanwhile is unaware and accepts her fate, thinking that she has naturally lost her child. This spirals Laura into alcoholism meanwhile Massimo tries to focus on work. Laura struggles to focus on her company and finds it difficult to be alone. Massimo buys her a dog to combat her loneliness.

Slowly Laura finds herself getting attracted to Nacho. Massimo meanwhile finds himself slowly getting addicted to drugs. Laura and Nacho meet and realise that they are in love. Laura then leaves Massimo and begins living with Nacho. Massimo is furious and kills her beloved dog and sends it to her new home.

At Olga and Domenico’s wedding, Massimo turns up with another woman. Laura is jealous and confronts him about her poor dog. Massimo denies killing her dog which prompts Laura to fall into his trap by going to Massimo’s place as he puts the blame on Nacho. She is kidnapped again by Massimo but manages to escape, going back to Nacho and falling pregnant with his child.

Our Review of The Next 365 Days (365 Days Book 3)

It’s safe to say that these books are on every spice lover’s must-read list! This book is sexy, super steamy and has gripping storylines that integrate perfectly with each other.

With all the travelling in this novel (Canary Islands, Sicily, Poland, Ibiza) it really felt like we were living the high life. Exuberant spending and lavish lifestyle included, it’s no wonder why these books are so popular.

The dark side of this book caters to the true devastation life can throw at you. Coping with the loss of their unborn child, both Marisso and Laura go down dark and difficult paths to cope with the emptiness in their life. Their relationship becomes difficult and it isn’t a far stretch of reality that Laura found comfort in another man.

A truly gripping piece in what is considered one of the most twisted, thrilling romance series of the decade.
